What are the signs of a motherboard malfunction?

My PC will not turn on. Before this, when it was in standby mode, it would not turn back on, I had to manually shut down the PC and restart it. After a few times of this it will not turn on at all. I replaced the power supply and the green light on the motherboard comes on but nothing else happens. Could it be the motherboard?

1. Sounds like a motherboard to me but it could be other problems.. Try taking out your Ram to see if you get a system beep.. if you do then it may not be your motherboard and it could be your memory causing it.. Good Luck
