Thermal Glue

How to apply thermal glue?

How exactly, and to where exactly, do you apply thermal glue?

  1. Apply a small amount roughly the size of a BB into the middle of your heatsink, then with a lint free cloth (coffee filters work well to) gently rub the compound into the surface of the heatsink, this will fill in any minor defects left from the manufacturing process. Perform the same process with the heat spreader of the processor, only if it has one of course. If it has a heat spreader it will look like a 1.5" x 1.5" sheet of metal with printing on it. After that apply another glob of paste the same size as before to either the heatsink or the heatspreader but not both. Set the heatsink down lock-it in and you should be good to go.
  2. under the processor fan theres a lever...open that lever and squirt it on top...get a card and spread it all over...avoid the sides u dnt want to mess up the processor
  3. You need a thermal glue dispenser. It has a pistol grip and it gets hot. Push on the back of the glue stick and it oozes out the nozzle.
  4. the termal gule goes on top of your cpu (processor) after you have fixed it to the mother board. then your cooling fan is attached on top of the thermal glue. This ensures the best heat transfer away from the cpu. You should use at least 2ml of glue. just be sure that it doesn't oooze out.
  5. you put it on your proccessor. When you allpt it, hust a small dab. DO NOT use the whole tube. Just use barely enough to have a thin layer across the top of the processor.
