Thermal Glue

How do you pack a motherboard for shipping back to the manufacturer?

I was sent a bum motherboard, and now I have to ship it back so that they can fix it, but they didn't say how I should pack it to send it back. Are there certain materials that I shouldn't use? Should I wrap it in plastic before I add a stabilizing material like bubble wrap or styrofoam popcorn?

  1. wrap it.
  2. you really should have a static bag to ship it in
  3. spank it
  4. Bubblewrap
  5. Put it back in the box it arrived in and stick it in a Jiffy Bag or just wrap it.
  6. If it is shot you shouldn't need a static bag. YOu may want to just to be safe, and a use a little bubble wrap. If it has a serial number on it MAKE SURE you keep that in your records.
  7. I almost say just put it in an envelope. Hopefully it will be so damages by the time it gets to them that they have to give you a new one and not "try" and fix the old one.
  8. you should put it in a anti-static bag first then put it into bubble wrap or a jiffy bag, then for saftey and transit put it in a box filled with polystyrene
